There are days in the buying and flipping world where you can't sell anything and you can't buy anything.
The end of the month is the worst time to sell, unless you don't care what you sell it for. Buying is harder, because dealers jack up prices to make their money back at the flea market. I usually can get jewelry for $1 or less, unless silver or gold (although I occasionally find that dealer that doesn't care or know anything about that, in which I win.)
Today I was at the Seekonk Speedway Flea Market. Not much to buy and flip. I found a McCoy Smiley Face cookie jar, which the guy wanted $45 for. For a buyer, that is a deal, for a dealer, not so much. I would've paid $10 at most to resell on Ebay. Now, I do like smiley faces and if I had a place, I would actually keep it. But I need the money more. A few weeks ago I went and had a find of 2 Mexico silver bracelets, one with turquoise inlay. I paid $1 each for them. I ended up selling the two together for $10 and change on Ebay. Not a bad deal. Not a huge profit, but silver is down right now. If this was 2011, it would've been a different story, as silver was its peak then.
I found a few pieces of jewelry for $2 each, really didn't want to pay that, but eventually I will get my money back. Jewelry is a slow sell, unless it's gold or silver, or a certain signed piece. Even then sometimes you sit on it. I did buy a silver plated gold necklace, but I think for now I will keep it, it's nice.
I'm thinking of maybe hitting up Saver's, if I am in the mood.

Welcome to Queen Flipz
Welcome to Queen Flipz! Join me in my adventures, or misadventures in buying and flipping (and maybe you will learn a thing or two.) I'm sure by now you've seen shows like Storage Wars, Pawn Stars, and all that jazz. Well, I've done storage wars, I go to auctions, flea markets, and yard sales all the time. I'm in the process of becoming an auctioneer. I do Ebay and Amazon as well. Well now you get to read all about it. Enjoy!
